Ongoing Classes

EveryBody Stretch is a floor-based movement class that welcomes every BODY; regardless of flexibility or experience. Even though Ida is a yogi herself, she has found that offering a class dedicated to stretching outside of the yogic tradition and philosophy, is more conducive to her approach to wellness through a bodyworker’s lens.

In this class you will be guided through a full body stretch sequence catered to any physical limitations you may have. The intensity and depth is entirely up to the individual. Ida will show you how to use various props to improve and modify your stretch practice.

The intention of EveryBody Stretch is to understand your anatomy, reduce chronic pain, increase flexibility, prevent future injuries, and to feel more present in your physical body.

Hands on Healing is a self-care class that teaches you how to effectively use your own hands and household props for self-massage. Ida will teach you various therapeutic approaches to hands on healing within the Swedish Massage Tradition, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release and Post Isomettric Relaxation (PIR).

In this class you will literally take your health into your own hands! Nothing quite beats a professional massage but you’ll be surprised on just how much you can do yourself. The self-massage session will conclude with some gentle touch and Reiki to help support your nervous system.

The intention of Hands on Healing is to empower your massage skills, establish body awareness, decrease pain, increase blood flow, relieve muscle tension and promote full body relaxation.

EveryBody Breathe is a breathwork class that will teach you various breathing techniques within the Shamanic Breathwork tradition. Shamanic Breathwork uses circular and rhythmic breathing patterns, breath retention, and gentle somatic movement to promote balance within the mind, body and spirit connection.

In this class you will be guided to trust your breath and understand the ways in which it supports your physical and mental health. You will learn about your nervous system and how simple breathing patterns can help assist it to regulate, calm down, or give itself a boost when needed.

The intention of EveryBody Breathe is to help you deepen your connection with your breath, reduce stress, improve clarity, boost your mood, ease anxiety, and enhance emotional regulation.

The Shamanic Sound Journey experience is an opportunity to be immersed in live music; Rhythmic drumming, rattles, bells, and vocals, with the intention of entering an altered state of consciousness known as the ‘Shamanic State of Consciousness (SSC). This meditative trance state can range from very light to very deep and anywhere in between. It can be as light as a daydream, something that we can easily snap out of, to something so deep that we temporarily step out of ordinary reality. In this journey session, we’ll drop our stories, open ourselves up to the great mystery, and allow ourselves to take a ride.

Something to Ponder: Across all cultures, there was a time when we made music for one another, moved and danced for one another, more often than not, for the sake of healing and deepening our spiritual connection. When we bring in the energy of live music and sound alongside our journey practice, we remember.

What to Expect: This practice can be done completely still, seated or lying down comfortably. Some may find that allowing rhythmic movement like rocking, jostling, or shaking can help bring you into the SSC. While this will be a floor based practice (not standing), you will be free to move through any positions that feel supportive to you and your process, ie; seated on your bum, seated on your knees, being on all fours, or laying down in any position. As in many of my classes, you have the power to choose your own adventure, and I encourage you to trust the wisdom of your body throughout this experience.

Previous Experience: While no experience is necessary, it can be helpful if you already have an existing journey or meditation practice in place. If you don’t, this may feel a bit foreign at first but with consistency, dropping in will get easier over time. Alternatively, even if this work is completely new to you, it could feel like the most natural thing you’ve ever done! You just never know until you jump in.

If you already have an active meditation or shamanic journey practice in place and you’ve never experienced these practices under the influence of live music, get ready! On a personal level, I believe there are many ways to achieve the SSC state and I ask you to trust your own intuition. I invite you to bring along any tools and techniques that already work for you in your current practice.

What to Wear: Comfortable clothing that allows full body range of motion. Layers are good for temperature fluctuations as are socks or slippers.

What to Bring: Yoga mat, blanket, & eye pillow provided. Please bring a water bottle and anything else you may need to feel comfortable on the floor ie: pillow, extra padding, bolsters.

Join seven of your peers for Grief Ritual: A mini-retreat at Caveside Wellness. Grief is with all of us and it’s often hard to move through alone. Our collective ancestors understood the importance of ritual and coming together during life’s hardest and most important transitions. We'll spend the day together remembering our beloved dead while facing, releasing, moving through, and integrating our grief around losing them.

Our methods will include group discussion, witnessing, somatic movement, breathwork, writing, song/chants, and prayer. Throughout the ritual, we’ll be working deeply with the element of water and taking advantage of it's innate abilities of holding and transporting. Part of our ritual will include a walk to the Clackamas River to physically release our grief-filled water vessels, asking our grief to be taken all the way out to the ocean. We’ll also work with local plants and herbs used in Scandinavian Folk Medicine to ease and alleviate the symptoms associated with grief and mourning.

Our official time will end at 1:30pm after we break bread together. There will be an optional FREE sauna to follow for anyone that would like to partake in a thorough cleansing before heading home.

What to Bring:

  • A water bottle

  • backjack or floor cushion

  • Photos or mementos of your beloved dead (pets included)

  • An offering for your beloved dead (favorite treat in real life, flowers, etc)

  • Decent walking shoes, umbrella or rain jacket if needed

  • A snack to share or a packed lunch if you need something more substantial

What to Wear: Comfortable clothing that allows full body range of motion. Layers are good for temperature fluctuations. Socks or slippers.
