A gentle, trauma-informed practice blending traditional postures with somatic awareness to sense from the inside out.

  • Somatic Yoga is a 60-minute, trauma-informed evening practice led by Ida, offered weekly at The Alignment Collective in Portland, Oregon, located on the SW Waterfront. Designed to support a gradual transition from the activity of the day into a space of quiet presence and inner awareness, this class weaves traditional yoga postures with somatic sensing and self-care, inviting you to experience each shape through sensation, awareness, and connection.

Each session is intuitively guided and shaped by the unique nervous system and bodycare needs of those present. You may experience elements such as mindful breath, meditation, sensory awareness, and at times self-touch or Reiki. Together, we create space for the nervous system to settle, for emotional and physical tension to release, and for the body to integrate the day’s experiences. By approaching familiar postures with curiosity and attention, we shift from simply “doing” poses to fully experiencing them through direct sensation and embodied awareness.

Through the practice, you are invited to explore:
    • Connecting breath with movement to support nervous system regulation
    • Using micro-movements to access the deep core and inner body awareness
    • Taking traditional yoga postures deeper into sensing and embodiment
    • Mindfulness and meditation to support emotional integration and relaxation

Breathwork Metamorphosis Sound Journey
A unique Shamanic Journey Group experience weaving together Breath & Nordic Sound HEaling

  • I’m thrilled to co-create this Breathwork Metamorphosis Sound Journey with my friend and breathwork facilitator, Amy Wilson, whose guidance supports and amplifies the Shamanic Sound Journey experience.

    The Journey Experience:
The Sound Journey begins by settling into a safe, supported space where you can soften and arrive fully in the present moment. Participants are invited to rest on the floor in a comfortable position—seated, kneeling, on all fours, or lying down—whatever feels most natural for your body. No prior experience is necessary; only a willingness to listen and allow the body to respond to the medicine of sound.

This immersive experience weaves live, channeled music with ancient Nordic traditions of Galdr and Seiðr, using voice, drumming, rattles, bells, and other instruments to shape a living soundscape. Rhythm and vibration become the guide, inviting participants into the Shamanic State of Consciousness (SSC)—a trance-like state where the mind softens, the senses deepen, and the doorway to inner vision and ancestral memory begins to open.

Movement is welcome and often arises naturally during the journey. Gentle rocking, shaking, swaying, or subtle shifts in posture help the body release tension and follow the currents of the sound. As rhythm and voice carry the experience forward, many find themselves dropping beneath the noise of everyday thought and into a more instinctive way of listening—one that connects with mystery, spirit, and the unseen threads that bind us to the natural world.

Breathwork Metamorphosis is woven into the journey as a transformational breathing practice that helps the body release held emotions, access deeper layers of awareness, and reconnect with inner wisdom. Through conscious breath, sound, movement, and attuned guidance, the breath opens pathways to profound somatic experiences. This process supports the body in reconnecting with its natural intelligence while bridging the wisdom of the soul and spirit, deepening the immersive Shamanic State of Consciousness.

As the sound gradually softens and the breath slows, the journey guides you back toward waking awareness. Time is given to rest, integrate, and notice what has shifted or revealed itself along the way. Over time, returning to this practice can deepen your relationship with the SSC and strengthen your ability to journey with rhythm, intention, and trust in your body’s innate wisdom.

What to Wear: Comfortable clothing that allows full body range of motion. Layers are good for temperature fluctuations as are socks or slippers.

What to Bring: Yoga mats, blankets, and eye masks are provided. Please bring anything else you need to feel comfortable for an extended time laying on the floor such as extra padding, pillows, or bolsters. If you like to journal, bring one.

Sacred Rage: Spring Edition
A cathartic group ritual experience honoring the Release & Reclamation of our anger

  • Sacred Rage: A Ritual of Release & Reclamation

Are you tired of being quiet? Of being polite? Are you ready to unlock the places within you that have been shut down or frozen?

What if your rage is not something to suppress — but something sacred?

Your rage is not a flaw. It is not “too much.” It is not wrong.

Our anger is as divine as our joy. As holy as our pleasure. It is a sacred signal — an indicator that a boundary has been crossed, that something unjust has occurred.

When anger is suppressed or shamed, it does not disappear. It lodges in the body. It smolders beneath the surface. It leaks out sideways — or erupts.

But what if this powerful force were given a safe and intentional space to be felt, expressed, and witnessed?

When we consciously befriend and honor our rage, it becomes medicine. It sharpens clarity. It restores boundaries. It reconnects us to our power. From that place, joy expands. Freedom deepens. Wholeness becomes available.

    What to Expect

In this 3.5-hour ritual container, you will be invited to come home to your body — and to the truth of what lives there.

Your voice is welcome. Your tears are welcome. Your sweat is welcome. Your “no” is welcome. Every part of you is welcome.

Nothing is forced. Nothing is performative. This is not about reliving trauma. This is about reclaiming your power.

    Inside this container, we will:

    • Ground and resource the nervous system

    • Build safety and consent agreements together

    • Cultivate community connection and inclusion

    • Move through guided somatic practices

    • Work with breath, sound, and vocal release

    • Engage in intentional movement and embodied expression

    • Create space for anger to surface, move, and transform

Your whole self is honored here. You move at your own pace. You choose how you show up. The parts of you that have been silenced, shamed, or frozen are invited back — on your terms, with the steady support of community.

Come ready to listen to your body, to feel what has been unfelt, and to leave with more of yourself than you arrived with. On the other side of this ritual awaits deeper clarity, embodied strength, and a fuller sense of who you are.

All humans 18+ welcome. Limited to 10 attendees total.

This event will be offered seasonally in October, January, April, and July. Each ritual will be flavored with the current season that we're in; expressing and collaborating with the cyclical themes and dynamics that nature provides us.

    What to bring:

    1. Journal

    2. Water bottle

    3. A large mixing bowl (any material)

    4. A shawl or scarf large enough to cover your head

    5. Anything extra that your body needs to be comfortable on the floor. (the studio provides yoga mats, blankets, & blocks)

    6. Any items that feel important to be added to our altar (items will be returned unless they’re intended as an offering)

What to wear: Comfortable clothing that allows full body range of motion. Layers are helpful as your temperature will fluctuate. The studio is a shoe free zone so you will need to be barefoot or wearing socks.

Who are your facilitators: Andrea Thompson and Ida Cavewoman have been close friends for over 20 years and have spent over a decade regularly practicing magic together within a Coven. Through their mutual respect and deep trust of one another, their medicine weaves in an effortless way and you’re sure to be in good hands for such BIG work.

Andrea is a native to Oregon, lover of magic, tinkering herbalist and dancer at heart. She has cultivated her practice of holding space for others through her 25 years of Massage Therapy experience in which she deeply listens to what the individual’s body is asking for and what old stories are ready to be released in that precise moment versus going with a specific protocol. Studying with Danielle Renee Battigione initiated her into her Magical practice many moons ago. Since then, she has shared and held ritual space in various magical workshops, embodiment events and at Soul Revival Ecstatic Dance for BIPOC. Blending folk traditions, movement, guided journeys, sound healing, breathwork, and ritual, she creates transformative spaces for remembrance, connection, and belonging.
